Especially his childhood favorite, dice golf! He loved basketball, golf, (his love of golf is legendary-cough, cough Heat Stroke Open), and if there was a board game in the room, he’d be trying to start a game. His love of games went beyond watching his Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Jeff has successfully represented numerous design professionals, contractors, and owners on claims involving allegations of design and construction defects, as well as failed. If you ever got a text from Jeff, it probably included videos of his piano song, at least once. Jeff Kubes’ practice focuses on civil litigation in the areas of construction law, professional liability, product liability and complex commercial litigation in a wide variety of disputes and claims in alternative dispute resolution and litigation matters. ![]() He loved NY-style pizza and would search out the best pie wherever he was. He served on the boards of Boysville in San Antonio, United Way and BACH in Houston, and countless economic boards across south Texas. He had the biggest heart and was passionate about giving and helping others. He could strike up a conversation about just about anything, especially sports and his favorite charities. He would make people laugh through his endearing sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was also a loyal, thoughtful and attentive friend who was always the life of the party. Beloved husband of Deb Kubes dear father of Gavin Mariekris, Brittany, and Cassandra Kubes loving grandfather of Cole and Olivia Kubes devoted son of Charles and Rosemarie Kubes fond brother of Jill Schrecker. Jeff was first and foremost a loving and proud father. Director of Strategic Relations serving the Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi areas. Through his work with Zachry, he built relationships throughout south Texas, and in 2017 joined Terracon Consultants as a Sr. After a decade in Georgia, Jeff and his family eventually landed in San Antonio, TX, where he began a new career with the Zachry Group. He began with ARCO Chemical in Newton Square, PA, then transferred to Southern California to work for ARCO Oil & Gas, then ARCO Petroleum Products. After graduating from Wittenberg University in 1977, he started a career with ARCO which would span more than 25 years. Jeff was born in Buffalo, NY, but grew up in Beaver Falls, PA-and could regale anyone with stories of his happy childhood in both cities. Jeffrey Andrew Kuhn passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2021, at age 65, doing what he loved most: playing golf.
